Introduction/specifics

Dear parents, I would like to take this opportunity to briefly introduce myself.

My name is Adriana Slabu, I am 34 years old and live in Essen. I am a state-certified educator and qualified childminder. I am known for my loving, patient and respectful approach to children.

My motivation for working with children is to accompany and promote individual development processes with the aim of offering children the opportunity to develop into strong, happy, self-determined and self-confident personalities. My work in kindergarten, primary school and youth welfare has helped me to expand, consolidate and professionalise my professional identity as an educational specialist.

Daycare offers a family-like environment and the opportunity to respond to each child personally and individually. This is very important to me.

Rooms

The Liebeli daycare centre is located on the ground floor of a well-maintained apartment building. It covers a total area of 127.5 square metres.

The ground floor features a long hallway, kitchen, large bathroom, guest toilet, bedroom and exercise room, group room, and dining and creative room. The basement has a small office, a storage room and an additional guest toilet.

The daycare centre is bright, open, lovingly furnished and designed to be child-friendly and conducive to movement.

The group room is the heart of the daycare centre and is entirely geared towards the needs of the children. It is equipped with a nice reading/cosy corner, a building/construction area and, of course, the room offers plenty of space for playing and moving around.

In the hallway, there is a nice colourful coat rack with enough space for each child.

The dining and creative room offers enough space for our communal meals. A large table invites everyone to eat together and prepare food.

The large bathroom has a large changing area with a pull-out staircase for the children.

After an eventful morning, the children can satisfy their need for sleep in a cosy bedroom. With its soothing colours, it has an atmosphere that invites sleep and rest.

Outdoor Facilities

There are several playgrounds within walking distance. The playgrounds have plenty of green space and are equipped with sandboxes where children can satisfy their urge to explore and move around. Not only do they offer a varied surface on which children can engage in a wide range of physical activities, but they also encourage them to play in the mud, build things and play with each other. In addition, the playgrounds feature various play equipment such as slides, swings, seesaws and climbing frames.

Basics

The care of the children is based on the official NRW education plan.

The focus of my educational work is to care for the children in accordance with the Pikler educational approach. The Pikler educational approach consists of three pillars:

- caring relationships

- autonomous development of movement

- free play

This educational approach focuses on the child's autonomy, right to self-determination and co-determination, and ability to communicate and interact. Children are respected and recognised for their independence, which is why their activities are not interfered with if possible. They experience movement sequences at their own pace and thus gain self-confidence, which contributes to the positive development of their personality.

It is important to me to be able to accompany and support children in their development and to build a trusting bond with them by responding to their individual attachment needs. Through sensitive, communicative interaction and appropriate assistance, I encourage the child to explore and expand their scope of action independently.

Qualification

For quality assurance purposes, I am in regular contact with my specialist advisor at Diakoniewerk Essen. They keep me informed about structural changes, adjustments to framework conditions or processes in the area of day care.

In order to improve the quality of my educational work, I regularly participate in training courses offered by Diakoniewerk Essen (at least twelve teaching units per year) as well as by external providers.

I have a qualification in first aid for infants and young children, as well as hygiene training, in accordance with Section 43 (1) No. 1 of the Infection Protection Act. These are renewed every two years.

Teamwork with parents

Dear parents,

My aim and desire is to establish a constructive and trusting partnership with you as a family in terms of your child's upbringing and education. This partnership should form the basis of a cooperative working relationship. It is based on mutual respect, trust and an understanding that we share responsibility for your child. This attitude helps your child to feel safe and comfortable in the daycare centre.

I offer you the opportunity to engage in regular communication with me, whether it be informal chats, detailed development discussions or personal needs. I use parents' evenings to inform you about organisational or educational matters.

The association will offer parents one of two options for childcare.

Option 1

A substitute from the professional association will take over the care of the children at my premises.

Option 2

The children will be cared for at the substitute premises of the professional association at Hilgenbornstraße 16, 45138 Essen.

Substitute care will only take place outside of regular closing days.
