Introduction/specifics

My name is Silvana Humann, born in 1981, I have two children born in 2005 and 2013. I am a trained lawyer and notary. After my second child started kindergarten, I wanted to balance work and family and decided to train as a childminder. In 2017/2018, I and my friend began training to become a qualified childminder through Diakoniewerk Essen. Since June 2018 we have been certified child day care workers by the Federal Association for Child Day Care e.V. In August 2018 we opened the large day care “Frohnhauser Purzelzwerge” together.

Rooms

The “Frohnhauser Purzelzwerge” are located in the basement of the St. Mark’s Church community center right next to a kindergarten and, with around 120 square meters, offer plenty of space to run around and play. We have a large games and dining room, as well as a bedroom. We also have a small ball pit with a climbing tower, a long hallway with a climbing wall as well as a kitchen and a bathroom with a children's toilet and children's sink. The playroom has various children's toys such as a small cooking corner, a reading corner and shelves with various toys such as cars, building blocks, dolls, etc.

Outdoor Facilities

We have a small green area with a playhouse, raised bed, waterway and sandpit. We also provide vehicles such as bobby cars, sand toys and much more for the children to play with.

Food

Since we are very keen to offer a balanced and varied diet, we cook ourselves. Fruit and raw food are offered as snacks. To quench your thirst, unsweetened tea and water are offered. Here the children are welcome to try everything that is put on the table. It is less important that the children eat everything. There is no pressure to eat.

Basics

The children should feel comfortable and secure. You should come to us with fun and joy. He will learn how to treat other children with respect. In addition, it should be lovingly introduced to rules and rituals. Rituals support this because they give structure to everyday life and provide orientation for the children. Children learn with and from each other. How can you help, comfort or even compromise the other person? Through our work, the children are prepared step by step for kindergarten.

Additional offer:

Children's gymnastics once a week in the adjacent kindergarten

Children's yoga once a week

Some offers will take place in cooperation with the neighboring kindergarten and the community, such as St. Martin's Festival and summer festival.
