My name is Sümeyye Özdemir (born in 1979), I'm married, and I have three children. I care for five children aged 10 months to 3 years. The children are cared for full-time, which means 41.5 hours per week.
My daycare is located on the ground floor of a five-unit building. It is approximately 93 square meters in size and has three bright rooms. The kitchen has a large table with plenty of space for eating, painting, puzzles, and much more. There is also a small play kitchen in the kitchen where the children can get involved and get creative. Downstairs is the play and activity area, which is equipped with wall shelves including great books, has exercise mats, and also invites children to build things. The Bobby Cars invite them to whizz around. In the bedroom, each child has their own bed.
The "Wickenburg Windelflitzer" also have a small backyard, which we enjoy using for playing, romping, exploring, and, in the summer, splashing around. There are also three great playgrounds nearby and within walking distance.
Our day begins at 7:30 a.m. The children can be dropped off until 9:00 a.m., after which our structured daily routine begins. I start at 9:00 a.m. with a welcoming song, followed by breakfast. At around 9:45 a.m. we go out to the playground or the large green meadow. If the weather is bad, I do crafts or paint with the children. Lunch is at around 11:30 a.m. After that, the children usually sleep or rest until around 2:00 p.m. From 2:30 p.m. we meet for a lunch snack and then we play together. The children are picked up between 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
I offer breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack, and drinks. My diet is balanced and includes plenty of fruits and vegetables. I don't use pork.
First and foremost, it is very important to me to build trust with the children, to accept them lovingly, and to introduce them to the daily routine of the group to ease the separation from home. The children should feel safe and secure. It is important to us to structure the daily routine consistently and with recurring rituals, as this gives the children security and orientation. I promote independence, social skills, health, and nutrition. Through regular, open communication with the parents and by observing the child, I try to meet the child's needs and interests. I give the children the time they need.
Once a week we go to gymnastics at the daycare center Poreitweg 88, 45145 Essen, where we are allowed to use their gym.
I work with the Diakoniewerk Essen and the Essen Youth Welfare Office. I participate in training courses every year.
My parent café takes place once a month. We do crafts, bake, and discuss your wishes and suggestions. We also celebrate together, for example, Christmas, St. Martin's Day, Easter, etc., and in the summer, there's a farewell party for my "big diaper racers" who are "racing" off to daycare.
Representation during closing times can be arranged with our professional association.
